How to Really See if Your Products Are Working!

One of the best ways to see the results you’ve achieved with Rodan + Fields products is to compare photos of your skin taken before and after you have started using them. Sometimes the change is gradual over time and since you see yourself every day in the mirror it won't be as obvious to you, but if you compare month after month - you should see the results over time.
When taking your “Before and After” photos, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
  1. Remove all makeup and pull hair back and away from your face.
  2. Find a well-lit room with a plain background, free from other people and pets, to limit distractions in the photo.
  3. Make sure your camera is in focus and the lighting is even.
  4. Take a picture of your full face, not just one particular area.
  5. Consistency is key. When you take your “After” photo, use the same background and facial position that you did in the “Before” photo.

How to Soothe Sensitive Skin this Spring

Everyone wants a smooth, even complexion year-round, but sensitive skin requires special care in winter. Luckily, it takes just a few tweaks to your SOOTHE Regimen to make a remarkable difference in how your skin looks and feels in cold weather, and our Director of Product Education, Mary Radford, RN, has all the information you need.
Steer Clear of Steam
“Avoid hot showers, steam rooms and saunas to minimize facial flushing,” Mary says. Also, use lukewarm water when washing your face, she advises, as hot water dehydrates skin and can also contribute to redness.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Mary also suggests adding Active Hydration Serum to your SOOTHE Regimen because hydration is often what sensitive skin is missing most. “Sensitive skin usually has a compromised surface with microscopic fissures that allow moisture to leach out and environmental toxins to leach in and irritate skin,” she notes. “Harsh climates can affect sensitive skin, making it more dry, chapped and sensitive, resulting in redness and possibly peeling.”
By supplementing your SOOTHE Regimen with Active Hydration Serum, you will further nourish your skin and boost hydration levels by 200% after just one use.* This hydrating serum formulated with our moisture-locking 3D3P Molecular Matrix is safe for use on sensitive skin, and in an eight-week clinical study, people who added Active Hydration Serum to their SOOTHE Regimen experienced skin that was not only calmer but also visibly firmer with fewer fine lines.
Participants in that study achieved the following results:**
• 95% had softer skin
•95% saw visibly firmer skin***
•91% had more radiant skin
•91% had smoother skin
•86% had fewer fine lines
•76% had smaller-looking pores
Because hydrated skin not only looks healthier but is primed to more readily accept ingredients from products that are layered on top, Active Hydration Serum helps boost the benefits of your SOOTHE Regimen. Apply it after cleansing with SOOTHE Gentle Cream Wash (and warm water, remember, not hot!) and follow with SOOTHE Sensitive Treatment and the remainder of your Regimen.
Protect It from the Sun
Even when the weather is overcast, the sun’s powerful rays are wreaking havoc on your skin. One product Mary recommends incorporating into your routine is ENHANCEMENTS Mineral Peptides SPF 20, a multi-tasking powder that provides SPF 20 sunscreen protection, plus contains light-reflecting minerals that immediately help even skin tone and reduce visible redness.

Two Awesome Serums that Are Even Better Together!

Roses and chocolate. Champagne and caviar. Jewelry and a handmade card. We love these Valentine’s Day pairings, but none of them will love your skin as much as our dynamic duo: Active Hydration Serum and REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum. Used together with any Regimen, this product power couple delivers results you’ll fall in love with all year long.
Each serum boasts impressive benefits when used on its own. Active Hydration Serum is powered by our patent-pending 3D3P Molecular Matrix, a three-dimensional grid of polymers that holds moisture-attracting ingredients against the skin. In an eight-day clinical study, Active Hydration Serum instantly raised skin’s hydration level by 200% after just one use, and kept skin hydrated for up to eight hours*.
Meanwhile, REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum includes Retinal-MD, which delivers the closest results to the firming, smoothing benefits of prescription Vitamin A without a visit to the dermatologist’s office. It works to visibly improve skin texture and firmness while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and is gentle enough on your skin to use every day.
How to use Active Hydration Serum and Intensive Renewing Serum together
The results get even better when you take these two power serums and turn them into a power couple. Active Hydration Serum primes skin to more readily accept ingredients from products layered over it, amplifying the effects of Intensive Renewing Serum. Here’s the right order in which to incorporate the two products into any Regimen:
  1. Cleanse
  2. If your Regimen includes Toner, use it now
  3. If the AMP MD Micro-Exfoliating Roller is part of your evening REDEFINE or REVERSE Brightening Regimen, use the Roller now; if you don’t use the Roller, or if it is daytime, skip this step
  4. Apply Active Hydration Serum
  5. Follow with Intensive Renewing Serum
  6. Complete your remaining Regimen steps
So there you have it — your new skincare crush- brought to you by our own favorite power couple, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields.

5 Tips to Rise & Shine a Little Easier

Daylight Saving Time began this past Sunday morning. And while it’s nice to have an extra hour of daylight, it’s no fun for the few days after we “spring forward” and lose an hour of sleep. Since getting up in the morning will be tricky this week, try these tips to make it a little easier.
  1. Throw some shade. Leave the curtains or shades in your bedroom open halfway to allow natural light to shine in and start to wake you gradually and naturally.
  2. Get moving…or stay still. As soon as you wake up, stretch, go for a walk, or do jumping jacks to get your blood flowing. If that sounds too daunting, take five minutes to meditate.
  3. Adjust your attitude. Start the day by thinking of three things you are grateful for, or by setting a positive intention, whether it’s to keep a smile on your face or nail your work presentation.
  4. Nosh and nourish. Eat a healthy breakfast that includes some protein to help you feel full longer. If you don’t have time to eat before running out the door, drink a glass of water to help you stay hydrated.
  5. Give yourself five. Five minutes to take care of your skin, that is. After you use your R+F Regimen, you’ll be glowing on the outside, even if you’re sleepy on the inside.
Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover you’re a morning person after all!

Join My Growing Team!

I did the Corporate thing for 14 years. Loved it. Learned a ton, worked with the best of the best, and climbed the corporate ladder. While home with my babies, I decided to give this "Side Hustle" notion a shot. How empowering must it be to earn what I am worth consistently by how hard I work each day, each month, each quarter? I thought it might be a good "in between" job while the girls were pre-school ages. Little did I know it would blow me away with it's potential for growth; not to mention - the extra incentives and flexibility. If you are curious at all about working a "side hustle" around your already full time schedule - let's talk. Life is short. No regrets. What would YOU do with the extra money each month?!? Message me today and we can discuss if it's a good fit for you!

Thank you to the generous Doctors behind Rodan + Fields I was completely spoiled last month with a personal shopping spree at Nordstroms!! Love representing this skincare line!!

Before & After: Breanna

Check out my friend, Breanna's results!! Here is what she has to say about her unbelievable transformation, using our Reverse Brightening & Lightening Regimens, Multi-Function Eye Cream, and Lash Boost:

Life's a beach, then you fry. Like this photo taken on the morning of my 30th, celebrated in all the sun's glory of the Keys. There's a lot of things I would tell this 2010 girl, one of which being: there's NO excuse for getting a sunburn after the age of 30. And this was before several more sun-soaked trips to Costa Rica, DR and PR...all of which I remember the burns of. So. Much. Sun Damage. And I didn't even know about melasma then, or the havoc that fertility drugs would wreak on my skin either. Well, lucky for me, I got a bail out with Rodan + Fields and now I promise my future self that I will ALWAYS leave the house with SPF on!

Ingredient Spotlight: RETINOL

As anti-aging ingredients go, nothing—honestly, nothing—works better at boosting collagen, reducing fine lines, evening out discoloration, and tightening pores than the little vitamin A molecule called retinol. "There are decades of research about how it stimulates cell turnover and gets skin looking and acting younger," says Scottsdale, Arizona, dermatologist Jennifer Linder, M.D. "And that doesn't even get into how great it is at fighting acne too." Retinol can prevent breakouts, she explains, and even reverse sun damage: "It's really the be-all and end-all in antiaging." What's been exciting recently, she adds, is how far over-the-counter creams and serums have come from the earlier harsh, face-peeling versions like prescription Retin-A. "The improved blends are more stable and are now paired with skin-calming ingredients," says Dr. Linder. The usual retinol caveats apply: Use SPF religiously, since retinol can initially make your skin more sun-sensitive; apply it at night (sunlight deactivates retinol); and ease into a routine by applying every other day for the first few weeks. "But now there are elegant formulas that have moisturizers like hyaluronic acid or oils, plus all these great additional antioxidants, so you can tolerate it better," she says. You should also see wrinkle-minimizing in about six weeks, if not sooner.

Rodan + Fields has two products that include this amazing ingredient - Our brand new Intensive Renewing Serum -

And our Dual Active Brightening Complex Serums with Vitamin C in it as well -
