My favorite smoothie is one packed with greens, hydrating properties, and skin-loving ingredients. It's my go-to when my skin needs a good burst of nourishment. it's a straight shot of everything my body needs.
Because the body breaks fruit down differently than vegetables, it is fruit-free. I have added in a few different greens, because they all have unique benefits. Kale is a good source of iron and calcium, while spinach is high in vitamins C as well as vitamin A - which is essential for healthy skin, hair, and nails. Cucumber is very hydrating and high in potassium, celery is an antioxidant, and ginger is fantastic for digestion.
Oh, and did I mention it tastes fantastic??? Sip it for breakfast, as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up or when your skin looks blah and you need a glow!
Elle's Go-To Smoothie
- 1 cup water or coconut water
- 1/2 cucumber
- 4 celery sticks
- 1/2 C fresh spinach
- 1/2 C fresh kale
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 4 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients, blitz/top with lime and see and feel the benefits.
