Repair Sun Damage

The common misconception is that lines and wrinkles are the first form of aging in our skin but it is actually dullness. We lose that glow and vibrancy of our youth - that “glow” we see in our kids and teen-agers faces. UV light causes photo aging in the form of brown spots, coarse skin and wrinkles, whether you have burned your skin or not. When sunlight comes in contact with skin a cascade of damage results (including the stripping of barrier lipids) causing inflammation, production of reactive oxygen molecules that affect healthy cell growth, and stimulation of collagen destructing enzymes.

Even with your daily dose of sunscreen, your complexion may be looking less than lustrous right about now. Before you send dull skin on its way, consider what’s going on above and below the surface.

Now’s your chance to perk up summer skin. Just remember that sun exposure doesn’t just appear (or disappear) overnight, so be patient. Make sure your daily skincare routine includes exfoliation (to remove dead dulling skin), and look for ingredients like Vitamin C to help even out skin tone. REVERSE Brightening Regimen is an effective way to clean the slate and brighten up your skin.

But if you need something a little stronger  - perhaps you suffer from Melasma - a common skin discoloration consisting of dark spots, which can develop on the forehead, cheek and upper lip, is a summertime skin risk - you might benefit more from our Reverse Lightening products.

I have several customers who have benefitted from one of these - sometimes a combo of both! Let's chat to discuss what might be best for you!

A trick, put a thick dab of the Step 3 on the dark spot then cover with saran wrap for 2 hours. Do this 2-3 times a week. It is called Occlusion Therapy and essentially deep treats those extra dark spots and helps them fade a little faster!
